What the VIP Seat Gives You, and What Stays the Same
VIP is about where you sit and how dinner reaches you. The dunes, the camel, the sandboards and the three shows are the same for every guest at our camp.

Dinner, Drinks and Shisha for VIP Guests
Chicken tikka cubes, grilled drumsticks, shish taouk, lamb seekh kebab and fish fillets, with mint and chilli sauces. You choose at the counter and a server carries it over.
Halal Arabic and Indian dishes with plenty of vegetarian choices. Water and soft drinks are unlimited all evening.
One pipe with your choice of flavour for USD 27 (AED 100). One, two or three guests at the table can share it as they like.

Who Gets the Most From a VIP Seat
A table of your own makes a quiet corner for an anniversary or a birthday toast with soft drinks. Tell us on WhatsApp and we note it on your booking.
A proper sofa with a backrest and a table at the right height, and nobody has to stand in the food line.
Your table stays put while the children run to the play corner, and food arrives without balancing plates.
The closest seats in camp for the fire show and the tanoura, so phone videos come out sharp.
You want the lowest price or plan to spend the evening walking around camp. The standard seat sees the same shows.
We advise no dune bashing. A vehicle takes you to camp by road, and the VIP sofa makes the evening easy.

Pickup Points and Where the Camp Is
Shared 4×4 and private cars collect you anywhere in Abu Dhabi city. The cruise terminal costs the same as a hotel. Landing at Abu Dhabi airport? That pickup is by private car only.
Al Khatim, 45 to 55 minutes from the city by road. Find it on Google Maps if you drive yourself.

Booking terms
Licence, Payment and Cancellation
Royal Arabian Safari holds a DCT Abu Dhabi licence and has run desert trips since 2015 from our own camp.
Every driver holds a desert driving permit and has 10+ years on the sand. Vehicles are insured and fitted with roll cages, with a belt for each seat.
Nothing up front. Pay the driver on the day in cash; cards cost an extra 8 to 10 percent in bank charges.
Cancel or move the date for free until 12 hours before pickup. If the weather turns, pick another date or walk away owing nothing.

Is the VIP safari private or shared?
The seating area is reserved for VIP guests and your table is yours, but the camp and the shows are shared. With hotel pickup the 4×4 is shared too; book your own car or Land Cruiser if you want it to yourselves.
Is there a private VIP camp or private dining?
No. We do not sell a private camp or a private dinner set-up. If you want privacy on the road, add your own car; at camp, the VIP sofas are the most private seats we offer.
Where exactly do VIP guests sit?
In the reserved area almost next to the stage, on sofas with a table, so the performers are a few steps away.
How is dinner served to VIP guests?
You choose at the live grill counter and a server brings the food to your table. It is the same halal Arabic and Indian BBQ buffet as the rest of camp, with many vegetarian dishes, not a separate gourmet menu.
Is the VIP upgrade worth the money?
For couples, older guests and families with small children, yes: a sofa, no food queue and the best view of the shows for USD 16 (AED 60) each. If you plan to walk around camp all evening, the standard seat is enough.
Which VIP package is best?
For most visitors, VIP with shared hotel pickup at USD 57 (AED 210). For four or more guests, a Land Cruiser with VIP seats costs about USD 78 (AED 285) each for four and gives the best ride.
Can just two people book VIP?
Yes. Two guests pay USD 57 (AED 210) each with hotel pickup. With your own car, two guests pay USD 223 (AED 819) in total.
Can I add a quad bike to the VIP safari?
Yes. A 30 minute quad ride is from USD 27 (AED 100), so VIP with hotel pickup and a quad is USD 84 (AED 310) per person.
Is shisha included with VIP seating?
Not in the price. Shisha is served at your table for USD 27 (AED 100) per table, with your choice of flavour, shared by up to three guests.
Does the VIP safari include dune bashing?
Yes, about 15 to 20 minutes in the dunes. You can ask for a gentle drive or skip it and go to camp by road.
What vehicles do you use?
Shared hotel pickup uses a 4×4. Private bookings travel in a Nissan Patrol or similar 4×4, or in a Toyota Land Cruiser, our best experience. All are insured and fitted with roll cages and a belt for each seat.
What time is pickup and when do we get back?
Pickup is about 3 PM, about 4 PM from May to September, and you are back between 9:30 and 10:30 PM.
Is VIP seating good for children and older guests?
Yes. Under 3s are free, from age 3 a child pays as an adult, and older guests get a proper sofa with no food queue. Ask for a child seat when booking; at camp there are high chairs and a play corner.
Can wheelchair users or pregnant guests join?
Wheelchair users need a private car, so message us before booking. Pregnant guests and anyone with back or heart problems should skip dune bashing; we take you to camp by road and you keep the VIP seats.
What should I wear to a VIP desert safari?
Light, comfortable clothes and closed shoes. From November to February bring a jacket for after sunset. More on what to wear on a desert safari in Abu Dhabi.
Is there an overnight VIP desert safari?
Not as a VIP package. Guests who want to sleep in the desert book our overnight desert safari, USD 109 (AED 400) per person (minimum 5 guests), with a tent of your own after the evening.
What happens in Ramadan?
The safari and the VIP seats run as usual. The tanoura and fire shows go ahead; there is no belly dance.
Is the up to 30% discount on every VIP package?
Yes. Every price on this page already includes it, for a limited time, with no code.
Can you collect us from the airport, the cruise terminal or another emirate?
From the Abu Dhabi cruise terminal at the hotel pickup price. From Abu Dhabi airport by private car only, USD 190 (AED 699) or USD 245 (AED 899) for a Land Cruiser. From Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain or Fujairah, ask us on WhatsApp.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
No deposit. Pay on the day in cash; cards carry an 8 to 10 percent bank fee. Cancel or change your date free up to 12 hours before pickup.
How do I book, and how far ahead?
Tap Check dates on this page, pick your package with VIP ticked and send it on WhatsApp. A day or two ahead is usually enough; on winter weekends and public holidays, book earlier.

It is not an exclusive private camp, though. When operators sell an exclusive desert safari in the UAE they usually mean a private camp; we keep the camp shared and make the road private instead.
