For most first-time visitors, yes: the dunes, a camel ride, the sunset, dinner and three live shows fit into one evening without any planning. It is less worth it if you dislike crowds at dinner time; then choose the private morning safari or the Lahbab red dunes in a private Land Cruiser.

About 7 hours door to door. Pickup is between 2:30 and 3:30 PM and you are back between 9:30 and 10:30 PM. The private morning safari is shorter: 4 hours from a 6 AM start.

Our Al Awir camp is 50 to 55 minutes by road from Dubai city, similar from Downtown, Bur Dubai or the Marina depending on traffic. The Lahbab red dunes are about 1 hour 10 minutes away.

Evening if you want the sunset, the BBQ dinner and the three shows. Morning if you want cooler air, softer light and empty dunes: ours is private only, in a Land Cruiser for USD 272 (AED 999) per car, starting at 6 AM for 4 hours, with no meal or shows.

Dune bashing is a 4×4 drive up and down the dunes, about 15 to 20 minutes on our evening safari. Our drivers are licensed, the vehicles are insured and every seat has a seatbelt. For safety, every driver holds a dune driving permit after training, has 10+ years of experience, and our 4x4s are fitted with roll cages. It is optional: ask for a gentler drive or skip it.

The camp, dinner and shows are the same. A standard safari is a shared seat, by bus or shared 4×4. Premium means a private car or private Land Cruiser for your group, and you can add the VIP sitting area with table service for USD 14 (AED 50) per person.

A private Land Cruiser costs USD 272 (AED 999) per car against USD 190 (AED 699) for a private sedan or 4×4, and gives a roomier, more comfortable ride on the dunes. The Lahbab red dunes run on Land Cruisers only. Six guests sit comfortably and a seventh can fit.

Yes. There is no strict dress code at the camp. Light clothes, shorts or loose trousers, closed shoes or sandals and sunglasses work best, with a light layer for winter evenings.

There is no age limit. Under 3 ride free on a parent’s lap; from 3 years the adult price applies. Older guests can ask for a gentle drive or skip the dunes, and anyone pregnant or with back or heart problems goes to the camp by road.

Yes. Our shared bus stops are at well-known malls and supermarkets in Dubai and Sharjah, so a taxi or the metro gets you close. We send the exact map pin on WhatsApp when you book.

Yes. A professional photographer costs USD 14 to 41 (AED 50 to 150) and a falcon photo USD 3 to 8 (AED 10 to 30). Arabic costumes for your own photos are free.

Yes. On the controlled track a quad is USD 27 (AED 100) single or USD 54 (AED 200) double; on the open desert it is USD 54 (AED 200) single or USD 82 (AED 300) double. No licence is needed, and a helmet and safety briefing are included.

Yes. The safari runs through Ramadan with the same dune drive, camel ride, dinner, tanoura and fire shows. Only the belly dance is paused for the month.
