The middle row usually feels steadiest, while the back row bounces considerably more. One passenger per group may sit in front on special request.

In a private vehicle, absolutely. Request gentle, standard or full power. In a shared vehicle, the driver maintains a standard pace for everybody.

Our full power drive is the most intense experience we offer. It operates in a private vehicle when every passenger requests it, with seat belts fastened.

Lahbab, for the tallest red dunes and the longest slides. Al Awir sits nearer the city and is the gentler choice for families and first timers.

Lahbab sand is a deep orange red, and its dunes are taller and softer. Al Awir has golden, rolling dunes that are considerably easier for beginners.

Our Al Awir camp is approximately 50 to 55 minutes from Downtown Dubai. The Lahbab red dunes are approximately 1 hour 10 minutes away.

We use Land Cruisers and other 4×4 vehicles, each with a roll cage and a belt for every passenger. Lahbab operates by Land Cruiser only.

Yes. Every 4×4 and Land Cruiser we use is air-conditioned, which matters on warm afternoons in the desert.

Softer tyres spread the weight and grip loose sand. Our drivers drop them from roughly 32 to 35 PSI to between 15 and 18 PSI.

No, a permit driver always handles the 4×4. Would you prefer driving yourself? Consider our dune buggy in Dubai or quad bikes.

No. In dune bashing our permit driver drives the 4×4, and you ride as a passenger. On a buggy or quad you drive yourself, while sandboarding and camel rides happen separately at camp.

Yes, in a private Land Cruiser costing USD 272 (AED 999) for up to 7. Choose a departure between 5 and 9 AM, although breakfast is not served.

Mornings offer cooler sand and peaceful dunes. Evenings include the sunset, the camp, dinner and entertainment, so most first timers choose the evening.

October to April is the cooler season and the most comfortable. In the hot months, choose the early morning or the evening. Safaris run all year, and during Ramadan everything runs except belly dance.

Your safety comes first, so we reschedule your trip or release your booking. In either case, you owe us nothing.

Evening guests are dropped back at around 9:30 PM. With a private car, you can leave the desert whenever you like.

Comfortable, loose clothing, closed shoes and sunglasses work perfectly. Bring a scarf for the sand, and keep valuables zipped away.

Remain seated with your belt fastened. The driver frees the vehicle or arranges recovery, and if necessary you transfer to another vehicle.

No. Tipping is entirely optional, and our drivers never request it.

There is no deposit, and payment happens on the day. Cards carry a bank fee of 8 to 10%. Cancellation is free until 12 hours beforehand.
