Six bag rules our drivers share at arrivals
- Airport storage charges per item: AED 35 for up to 3 hours and AED 75 for 24 hours, then more for longer stays.
- The storage desk is on the arrivals side of Terminal A, so you reach it after immigration.
- Etihad Land and Leave delivers bags within three hours; each additional bag costs AED 20.
- Checked through on one ticket? Your suitcase stays with the airline and you only carry hand luggage.
- Separate tickets change everything: you collect the bags, clear immigration and check them in again.
- On a tour with us, there is no storage fee. Hand luggage stays locked in your private car while you visit.

Questions
Abu Dhabi Airport Luggage Storage Questions
How much is luggage storage at Abu Dhabi airport?
Per bag: USD 10 (AED 35) for up to 3 hours, AED 55 for 12 hours, AED 75 for 24 hours, AED 105 for 48 hours and AED 140 for 72 hours. After that each extra day adds AED 25. These are the airport’s own rates.
Where is the luggage storage at Abu Dhabi airport?
At a staffed counter on the arrivals level of Terminal A, landside, so you reach it after customs. Follow the baggage services signs in the arrivals hall.
Is Abu Dhabi airport luggage storage open 24 hours?
Yes. The airport lists its baggage storage as open 24/7, so you can drop or collect a bag before a dawn flight. Still allow a buffer, because staff numbers vary at night.
Are there lockers at Abu Dhabi airport?
The airport publishes a staffed counter, not self-service lockers. Plan to hand your bag to a person, keep the receipt and carry ID to collect it.
Can I store my luggage at Abu Dhabi airport and leave the airport?
Yes, that is what the counter is for, if your passport lets you enter the UAE. Drop the bags after customs, see the city and collect them before check-in.
Do I need to collect my bags on a connecting flight in Abu Dhabi?
Usually not. On a single ticket or between partner airlines, bags are tagged to your final airport and transfer automatically. Separate tickets usually mean collecting and checking in again.
Is app storage cheaper than the airport counter?
For a full day in the city, often yes: apps such as Bounce, Nannybag and Qeepl list points from about AED 22 a day. Those points are outside the airport and keep shop hours, so for a same-day layover the airport counter is usually easier.
Can I use the storage counter if I am not flying?
Yes. It is landside in arrivals, so day visitors, cruise passengers and anyone dropping bags before a later flight can use it.
What happens if I collect my bag late?
You move into the next price band. Beyond 72 hours, AED 25 a day is added to the AED 140 already charged.
Is there a size limit for bags at the counter?
The airport prices per item rather than by weight. Standard suitcases and carry-ons are accepted; check unusual or oversized items at the counter.
Can my bags stay in the car on a layover tour?
Yes. On our private layover tours your bags ride in the locked car and come back to departures with you, so there is nothing to store or collect.
Is it safe to leave luggage at Abu Dhabi airport?
Yes. It is a staffed counter on the arrivals level that runs 24 hours, every day, and you collect with the receipt you are given. Keep passports, cash, medicines and electronics with you, as you would with any left luggage service.
Can I book Abu Dhabi airport luggage storage in advance?
There is no need. The counter takes walk ins at any hour and charges per item by time band. Groups save: the airport lists 10% off for 10 or more items and 15% off for 20 or more.
What is Etihad Land and Leave?
An Etihad service run by Morafiq for passengers ending their trip in Abu Dhabi. You skip baggage reclaim and the bags reach a home or hotel within 50 km inside three hours. It costs USD 34 (AED 125) plus VAT for two bags and USD 5 (AED 20) per extra bag, so it suits arrivals, not layovers.
Do I need luggage storage on a 7 hour layover?
Usually not. If your bags are checked through to your final destination, you walk out with hand luggage only. Storage matters on separate tickets or after a hotel check out. If you do store a bag, 7 hours falls in the up to 12 hours band: USD 15 (AED 55) per item.
Is there a discount for storing several bags at Abu Dhabi airport?
Yes. The airportās published rates drop by 10 percent for 10 or more items and by 15 percent for 20 or more. Prices are per item and per time band, so a family with 4 suitcases still pays 4 times the single rate.
Who runs the storage counter, and can I get my bags wrapped?
The airport lists Excess Baggage Company as its baggage storage partner at Terminal A. Baggage wrapping is a separate counter near the check-in areas on the departures side; the airport does not publish its price, so ask at the counter.
What do I do if I lose luggage at Abu Dhabi airport?
It depends where. Something left in the terminal goes through the airportās Lost and Found webform. Something left on the plane, or a checked bag that did not arrive, goes to your airline: report a missing checked bag at the airlineās baggage desk before you leave the arrivals hall.
