Quad Biking in Dubai Without the Usual Surprises

Here’s the complaint we hear most often from guests who previously rode with another company. They paid for desert quad biking, then spent twenty minutes circling a small, flat track. The genuine dunes, apparently, cost considerably extra.

So we prefer telling you everything plainly before you book. Our prices cover 30 minutes, 1, 2 or 3 hours of riding on the sand. Your helmet, goggles, gloves and cold water are already included.

You decide exactly where you ride. Beginners usually start in the marked area at our Al Awir camp, east of Downtown Dubai. Confident riders explore the open golden dunes beside the camp. Honestly, though, the real treat is Lahbab, famous for its taller orange red dunes.

Choose the cool morning, the afternoon, or the beautiful golden hour before sunset. Book the quad independently, or combine it with an evening desert safari. Either way, you’ll know your complete total before leaving the hotel.

The short answer

Getting there

Coming by Car or Need a Pickup? Two Easy Ways In

Honestly? If you’ve got the time, go to Lahbab for quad biking in Dubai. The dunes are bigger, the sand is properly red, and the whole experience feels like a real adventure. Getting out there is easy, whichever option you choose.

Option one

I’m Driving Myself

  • Lahbab: it’s about 1 hour 10 minutes from Downtown Dubai. Tap the Lahbab pin to see the location. Once you book, we WhatsApp the exact meeting spot, and a member of our desert team will be there.
  • Al Awir: approximately 50 to 55 minutes from Downtown on Al Awir Road (E44), the Dubai Hatta Road. Open the camp pin and let Google Maps handle the navigation.
  • Your cost: just the quad bikes, from USD 54 (AED 200) per rider for every 30 minutes. Helmet, goggles and gloves are included.

Option two

Please Pick Me Up

  • Land Cruiser: USD 272 (AED 999) per car. Most of our Lahbab riders pick this one, and honestly, we understand why. It’s the most comfortable experience we offer.
  • Sedan or 4×4: one car for up to 7 of you costs USD 190 (AED 699). Think Nissan Patrol, Toyota Previa or something similar.
  • Door to door: we pick you up from your hotel or apartment in Dubai, Sharjah or Ajman. Your driver waits throughout the ride, then drops you back at your door.

Coming from Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah or Al Ain? Send your address on WhatsApp, and we’ll calculate the pickup.

Six Things to Check Before Booking a Quad in Dubai

Most disappointed riders never asked these questions beforehand. Here they are with our honest answers, so you can compare every operator fairly.

Engine size

Every quad is automatic, so there are no gears to learn. Our standard quads are 250cc, comfortable for beginners. A powerful 700cc quad is available on request for experienced riders.

Single or double

Ride independently, or alternatively share one quad with a partner or child. A shared quad always costs less than two separate quads.

Real riding time

We sell 30 minutes, 1, 2 or 3 hours of riding. Always ask other operators whether their advertised minutes include the briefing.

Track or real dunes

The controlled area is a marked practice track. The open dunes and Lahbab are genuine desert terrain, and a guide rides with you.

The final price

The price on this page is exactly what you pay. There’s no deposit or booking fee, and the equipment and water are included. A private pickup waits while you ride and brings you back, so the transportation price covers both directions.

Riding kit

A helmet, goggles and gloves come with every quad. We also provide cold drinking water before and after your ride.

On 2 November 2026, other Dubai operators advertised 30 minute single quads between AED 120 and 250. Several published a 24 hour cancellation window, whereas ours is 12 hours.

What you pay

Red Dune Quad Biking at Lahbab: Price for Your Group

Lahbab sits about 1 hour 10 minutes from Downtown Dubai, so most riders prefer our private transport. Below, you’ll find the full total for groups of one to seven riders.

How the total works

Start with the vehicle price, then add USD 54 (AED 200) for every individual quad. Each rider enjoys a 30 minute ride across the red dunes of Lahbab.

Sharing saves money

Two riders on one quad cost USD 82 (AED 300). Couples frequently share, and families usually position a child behind a parent.

Paying on the day

There’s no deposit and no online payment. Most riders pay cash in any currency, and card payments add a bank fee of 8 to 10%.

The vehicle stays with you

Your private driver waits throughout your ride, at Lahbab or Al Awir, then returns you comfortably to your hotel.

Want your exact total?

Send your date, hotel and number of riders on WhatsApp. We reply quickly with your total and the pickup time.

Where You Ride and Which Quad Suits You

Al Awir’s sand is golden and softer, whereas Lahbab’s dunes look orange red and stand noticeably taller. Prefer a protective frame and seat belts? Consider a dune buggy in Dubai.

Safety first

Is Quad Biking in Dubai Safe? Age, Safety Rules and What to Wear

Is quad biking in Dubai safe? We’ll be straight with you. A quad has no roll cage, so the risk is real. In 2023, a UAE University study looked at Dubai ambulance reports of quad crashes from 2017 to 2021. The risky habits it found were simple ones: no helmet, carrying passengers, night riding and riding on paved roads. Every ride we organise is planned around avoiding those four.

Helmet on, every single ride

Keep the helmet on for the entire ride, even on the practice track. Every rider receives a helmet, goggles and gloves, so simply bring comfortable closed shoes and long trousers.

A guide rides with you

Before you start, our instructor gives every rider a full safety briefing. He then rides his own quad beside you, chooses the line and follows your pace. Meanwhile, the rest of our team keeps watch over every group throughout the ride.

Sand only, never at night

We ride in the morning, the afternoon or around sunset, always on open desert sand. We never ride after dark or on a road, which sounds obvious, we realise.

Watch the slip face

Dunes climb gently on the windward side, then drop away sharply on the other. That hidden drop surprises beginners, so ease off approaching every crest and stay on the guide’s line.

Two on one quad

Sharing is perfectly fine, and it’s cheaper than two separate quads. The passenger holds on with both hands, and the driver stays gentle on the climbs. Please, no showing off with a passenger sitting behind you.

Children and teens

We don’t set an age limit, because parents understand their children best. Children around five can drive a small quad, and younger children ride together with a parent. Children pay the same price per quad.

Pregnancy, back or heart problems

Honestly, skip this activity and relax in the shade at the camp, with clean toilets and cold drinks nearby.

Check your travel insurance

Our quads are insured, but that’s different from your personal cover. Some travel policies won’t pay out for quad biking in Dubai, so check yours before departure.

Heat and water

We provide cold water with every ride. From May to September, come early or around sunset, because midday sand in summer is unbearable, trust us.

Planning the whole evening with children? Our family desert safari in Dubai guide covers it step by step.

Where we ride

Al Awir and Lahbab: Our Two Quad Biking Areas Near Dubai

Our camp sits in the Al Awir desert, east of the city, beside the Al Awir Road (E44). The drive takes approximately 50 to 55 minutes from Downtown Dubai. Both the controlled track and the open golden dunes are located here.

Lahbab lies further south east, approximately 1 hour 10 minutes from Downtown. Its sand has a strong orange red colour, and the dunes rise considerably higher. Photographers and experienced riders therefore usually prefer it.

You’ll also notice quad rentals advertised along the Dubai Hatta road. Ours are not roadside rentals. You ride with our own guides, and we confirm the price in writing beforehand.

Our Al Awir camp pin: open in Google Maps. Lahbab pin: open in Google Maps. Staying in the capital instead? See quad biking in Abu Dhabi.

Had such an amazing experience with the quad bikes and buggies! The rides were super fun, well-maintained, and perfect for both beginners and adventure lovers. What really stood out was the staff, extremely friendly, helpful, and always making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. This is actually one of my go-to spots whenever I go out with family and friends, and it never disappoints. The whole place has such a welcoming and lively vibe. There’s also so much more to enjoy camel rides, falcon photo experiences, and small tuck shops for snacks and refreshments, which makes the whole outing even more special. Absolutely love this place. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun desert adventure!

Rider on a quad bike on the dunes near our camp
On the dunes near our Al Awir camp.
  • Book the morning in summer. Between June and September, the dunes stay considerably cooler before ten in the morning.
  • Share a quad with a child. A parent driving and a child seated behind feels more secure, and it’s cheaper than two separate quads.
  • Wear closed shoes. Hot sand and a footrest don’t combine well with sandals, especially after midday.
  • Leave valuables in the car. Sand finds its way into every pocket, so carry only your telephone on the quad.

Questions

Quad Biking Dubai: Questions Riders Ask

How much is quad biking in Dubai?

One rider on our controlled practice track pays USD 27 (AED 100) for 30 minutes. The open desert dunes at Al Awir or Lahbab cost USD 54 (AED 200) per individual rider. Two riders sharing a quad pay USD 82 (AED 300).

Is an ATV the same as a quad bike, and what does it cost in Dubai?

Yes, ATV and quad bike mean the same machine here. Our quad bike rental starts at USD 27 (AED 100) for 30 minutes in the controlled area. One hour on the open dunes is USD 109 (AED 400) for one rider. Every quad comes with a helmet, goggles and gloves.

Is the price per person or per quad?

Every price is calculated per quad, whether one or two riders share it. Two separate quads therefore involve two separate prices.

How much does quad biking in Dubai cost for a family of four?

At Lahbab, four riders on individual quads for 30 minutes pay USD 218 (AED 800) altogether. With a Land Cruiser pickup, the total comes to USD 490 (AED 1,799). Choosing a comfortable sedan or 4×4 reduces the total to USD 408 (AED 1,499). Sharing two quads with the Land Cruiser costs USD 436 (AED 1,599). Children and teenagers pay exactly the same price per quad.

What is the age limit for quad biking in Dubai, and can kids ride?

We have no fixed minimum age, which surprises many families. Children around five can drive a small quad, while younger children ride together with a parent. Kids pay the same price per quad as adults.

Can I ride the red dunes at Lahbab?

Absolutely, and the experience costs USD 54 (AED 200) per quad. Travel there in your own vehicle, or reserve our private sedan or 4×4 for USD 190 (AED 699). A comfortable Land Cruiser costs USD 272 (AED 999).

How much is 1 hour, 2 hours or 3 hours of quad biking?

On the open dunes or at Lahbab, a single rider pays USD 109 (AED 400) for one hour. Two hours total USD 218 (AED 800), and three hours total USD 327 (AED 1,200). For anything longer, message our reservations team on WhatsApp.

Do I need a driving licence?

No licence is necessary, and we never ask for identification or a signed waiver. The guide explains the throttle and brakes before your first ride.

What safety gear do you provide?

Every rider receives a helmet, goggles, gloves and cold drinking water. A guide gives the safety briefing, then rides with you on every quad tour.

Are your quads automatic?

Yes, every quad we use is automatic, so you simply operate the throttle and brakes. There’s no clutch or gear lever, which helps first time riders feel comfortable immediately.

Which engine sizes do your quads have?

Our standard quads are 250cc, which feel comfortable for beginners. A powerful 700cc quad is available on request for experienced riders, so ask on WhatsApp for its price.

Can I book quad biking without a desert safari?

Certainly, the quad can be reserved entirely independently. Drive to the camp yourself, or choose our private pickup from USD 190 (AED 699) by sedan or 4×4.

Can I add a quad to an evening desert safari?

Yes, and many visitors happily combine both activities. Our evening desert safari in Dubai costs USD 41 (AED 150) per guest with hotel pickup. Add a quad on the day from USD 27 (AED 100).

What is the best time of day for quad biking?

Morning rides feel noticeably cooler and quieter, especially between May and September. Sunset rides deliver the most beautiful light for photographs, while afternoon slots work comfortably during winter.

What clothes work best for a quad ride in the desert?

Wear closed shoes, long trousers and a lightweight top, because the sand gets everywhere. A scarf protects your face, and we provide the helmet, goggles and gloves for every rider.

Is quad biking in Dubai safe?

Yes, provided you wear the helmet and follow the guide’s instructions throughout. A UAE University study of Dubai ambulance reports linked injuries to missing helmets, passengers, night riding and roads. We ride on sand, in daylight, with a guide beside you and our team watching every group.

Can teenagers ride their own quad?

Yes, if you’re comfortable with that decision. We don’t set an age limit, so parents decide. Teenagers receive the identical safety briefing and ride their own quad, with the guide nearby.

What happens if my quad gets stuck in the sand?

It happens occasionally, especially on a first ride, so please don’t panic. Stop, remain seated and signal to the guide. He’s right beside you and will help you get moving again.

Does travel insurance cover quad biking in Dubai?

That depends on your policy, so read the small print before travelling. Some insurers treat quad biking as a dangerous sport. Our quads are insured, but your personal cover still matters.

Is 30 minutes enough, or should I ride longer?

For a first go on the practice track, yes. On the open dunes we’d recommend 1 to 2 hours, because relaxing on a quad takes a little time. After that, it becomes genuinely enjoyable.

Will the price change when I reach the desert?

No. The total we confirm on WhatsApp is exactly the amount you pay on the day. Nobody adds an additional fee at the camp, and we never request a deposit.

Where is the quad biking location in Dubai?

Most of our riders start at the Al Awir camp, roughly 50 to 55 minutes east of Downtown Dubai. The taller red dunes of Lahbab are approximately 1 hour 10 minutes from the city.

Lahbab or Al Awir, which is better for quad biking?

Lahbab, if you want the real experience. The red dunes are bigger, and the desert around Lahbab feels wilder. Al Awir is closer to the city, and its practice track is perfect for beginners and children.

Can I drive to the quad biking area in my own car?

Yes, and you’ll only pay for the quad bikes themselves. Heading to Lahbab? Open our Lahbab pin, and we’ll WhatsApp the exact meeting location after booking. For Al Awir, simply follow our camp pin along Al Awir Road (E44).

Is there quad biking on the Dubai Hatta road?

Yes, and that’s exactly where we operate. The E44 is called Al Awir Road near the city and the Dubai Hatta Road further out. Our Al Awir camp sits just off this highway. The crowded rental yards around Al Badayer are across the border in Sharjah, a completely different operation.

Can I rent a quad bike in Dubai without a guide?

Not with us. Every quad tour includes our experienced guide riding alongside you. Desert dunes conceal steep drops you simply can’t see from the saddle. You still drive your own quad, so it never feels like a supervised babysitting session.

Is quad biking in Dubai the same as an ATV ride?

Yes. ATV stands for all terrain vehicle, and around Dubai people use both names for the same four wheeled machine. So if you searched for an ATV experience, you’ve definitely landed in the right place.

How can I make quad biking in Dubai cheaper?

There are three practical ways. Begin on the practice track at USD 27 (AED 100), or share one quad between two riders. Driving yourself also helps, because you’ll only pay for the quad bikes themselves. Sharing a quad on the open dunes costs two riders USD 82 (AED 300), compared with USD 108 separately.

What is the difference between the controlled area and the open dunes?

The controlled area is a marked practice track, perfect for beginners and younger children. The open dunes are genuine desert terrain with steeper climbs and descents, and our guide leads the route.

Can two people ride on one quad?

Yes, two riders can comfortably share one quad. On the open dunes a shared quad costs USD 82 (AED 300), considerably less expensive than two separate quads.

Who should not ride a quad bike?

Please avoid quad biking during pregnancy, or if you have back or heart conditions. You can relax at the camp instead, which offers shade, clean toilets and refreshing cold drinks.

Is a quad or a dune buggy better?

A quad feels lighter and more exciting, because you steer it with handlebars. A dune buggy in Dubai offers seats, belts and a protective frame, which many families prefer.

Is there a deposit, and can I cancel my quad ride?

No deposit is required, because payment happens on the day of your ride. Cancelling or changing the date is free until 12 hours beforehand, and unsuitable weather costs you nothing.

How do I book quad biking in Dubai?

Tap Book now and choose your preferred riding area. Then send your date, riders, preferred time and transport on WhatsApp, and we confirm everything with your exact total.
